MEMBERSHIP FEES
NEW MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTION - with effect from 1ST JANUARY 2005
At the 44th Annual General Meeting held at Hotel Helang, Pulau Langkawi from 29th to 30th May 2004, the House approved the new subscription fees which is effective from 1st January 2005. The rate of annual subscriptions payable by each category of membership shall be as follows :

B. Reduction of Subscription
The Council may reduce annual subscriptions for members as follows:

RM150.00 for 1st to 10th year Medical Officer including House Officer

RM 112.50 (from 1-1-05) and RM125.00 (from 1-1-07) for spouse of Ordinary Members and Life Members

RM112.50 (from 1-1-05) and RM125.00 (from 1-1-07) for new members in any category of membership specified in By-Law III (1) (except student members) enrolled in the period 1st July to 31st December, the reduction being for the year only.
C. Life Membership Contributions

An Ordinary Member who completes the Life Membership upon paying RM4,000.00 to the capital of the Special Savings Investment Fund is eligible for election by Council as a Life Member. Article III (2) refers.

An Ordinary Member who is a spouse of a Life Member shall contribute half of RM4,000.00 to qualify for Life Membership.
D. Members Not Gainfully Employed

The Council may waive annual subscriptions for those who are in good standing and are no more gainfully employed due to illness or disability.

A medical practitioner who has been an Ordinary Member and of good standing for at least 20 years and has attained the age of 65 shall be eligible for exemption from further payment of annual subscription of the Association.
E. By - Law IV
Arrears of Subscriptions

Members whose subscriptions are in arrears for three (3) months on 31st March shall receive one reminder to pay by letter and those in arrears for six (6) months on 30th June shall automatically have their names removed from the membership register and cease to be a member of the Association. On application to rejoin, a rejoining fee of RM100.00 will be levied.

Ordinary Members in arrears of subscriptions for six (6) months on 30th June each year shall automatically have their names removed from the Electoral Roll and shall not be eligible to vote.

Members shall be notified by letter of the removal of their names from the membership register.

The Association reserves the right to institute legal action to recover the arrears of subscriptions from those members whose subscriptions have fallen into six (6) months arrears, and shall reserve the right to publish the names of members in arrears in the Association's publications.
